Your Computer Guy On Wheels
Standard Terms and Conditions of Service

By booking a service, dropping off a device, or requesting an on-site or remote support visit, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Hourly Rate & "Best Effort" Service• Paid by the Hour: All services, including diagnostics, transport, repairs, software installations, and tech support, are billed at my standard hourly rate.• I do not offer a "No Fix, No Fee" policy. Technology issues can be complex. The time spent troubleshooting, testing, and diagnosing a fault requires expertise and labour. You agree to pay for the time spent working on your device, regardless of whether a final solution is physically possible or chosen by you.• Best Effort: I provide "best effort" technical support. This means I will apply my professional skills and knowledge to solve your computer issues, but I cannot guarantee that every problem can be completely resolved due to factors like hidden hardware failures, out-of-date systems, or discontinued software.
2. Backups and Mandatory Data Loss Warning• Your Responsibility: You are strictly responsible for backing up all data, photos, documents, and software before I begin any work on your device.• No Liability for Data: Computers and data storage devices can fail unpredictably during testing and repair. I am not liable under any circumstances for the loss, corruption, or recovery of your data or software.
3. Physical Drop-Offs & Abandoned Property (NSW Law)• Collection Window: Once I notify you that your device is ready for collection, you must pick it up and settle any outstanding amounts within 30 days.• Uncollected Goods: In accordance with the Uncollected Goods Act 1995 (NSW), if a device is left unpaid or uncollected for more than 60 days, it will be treated as abandoned property. I reserve the right to recycle, dispose of, or sell the device to recover outstanding labour and/or storage costs.
4. On-Site Services• Safe Environment: For on-site visits to your home or business premises, you must provide a safe work environment and a person over the age of 18 must be present at all times.• Access Requirements: You must provide me as a technician with physical access to the equipment, as well as necessary passwords or administrator credentials required to perform the work.
5. Payment Terms• Residential Clients: Payment is due in full immediately upon completion of the work, prior to or at the time you collect your device or when the on-site visit concludes, unless stated otherwise. I accept cash, card, or instant bank transfer.• Business Clients: For approved commercial clients, payment must be made strictly within 7 days of the invoice date.• Costs of Recovery - in case of overdue/unpaid invoices, the debtor/s shall pay for all costs actually incurred by me in the recovery of any monies owed under this Agreement. You agree to be liable for and indemnify Your Computer Guy On Wheels. These costs include recovery agent costs, repossession costs, location search costs, process server costs and solicitor costs on a solicitor/client basis, debt collection commission and legal fees on an indemnity basis.
6. Limited Warranty & Exclusions• New Parts: Any physical parts or components supplied during a repair are covered by their respective manufacturer’s warranty, not by me.• Exclusions: My warranty does not cover new virus or malware infections, user errors, changes you make to the system configuration after service, or software updates that break functionality after I leave.
7. Australian Consumer Law (Mandatory Statement)My services and goods include statutory guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. Major service failures entitle you to cancel and seek a refund or compensation, while major goods failures allow for a refund or replacement. Minor issues will be rectified within a reasonable timeframe.
